Northeast Ohio Wrestling Officials Association

New Season - New Web Site

State Rules Interpretation Meeting Date

Our annual State Rules Interpretation meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 18, at Cuyahoga Heights High School, 4820 East 71st Street. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. Ray Anthony, OHSAA's

State Wrestling Rules Interpreter, will present

updates on rule changes, points-of-emphasis and answer questions to prepare you for the season. Don't forget to bring the attendance card that was included in the packet OHSAA mailed you along with this year's NFHS rule and case books. If you are unable to make this meeting please go to OHSAA's web site to locate a meeting that best suits your schedule.

Never thought we'd see the day, but OHSAA finally capitulated to permit the wearing of the grey shirt. But it comes with a stipulation: we all wear 'em or it's the

black and whites that will cover those masculine

physiques of ours. Oh, almost forgot, the shirt must bear OHSAA's logo and American flag. The shirt

can be purchased at Purchase Officials. Please

click on Purchase Officials to view their web site.

Concussion Certification Current?

OHSAA requires licensed officials to possess either a current Department of Education issued Pupil Activity Program / Coaching permit or show evidence of completing an approved online concussion education course that is valid for 3 years from the date of completion.  Not sure if your certificate is current? Go to MyOHSAA to check it out.

NOWOA's Board of Directors is proud to launch our Association's re-designed website that implements a new design and provides what will offer additional resources and meaningful information delivered to

our members throughout the wrestling season and beyond.

This site is focused on delivering the most current and relevant information on rule changes, interpretations, and mechanics with the intent of making you better informed and better equipped to carryout your duties on the mat.
